Two nights with kids by car: Matsushima, Oku-Matsushima, Shiogama
Short drives, long evenings at the house. Free parking for up to 3 cars.
Day 1
Arrive at the Matsushima waterfront. Godaido Hall and Fukuura Bridge are an easy walk with kids.
Drive to ISSO (about 4 min from Godaido) and check in.
Buy seafood next door and top up at the supermarket (9 min walk), then BBQ on the porch.
Day 2
Drive to Oku-Matsushima for the Sagakei cliffs cruise, then Tsukihama Beach or the Oku-Matsushima Club House if there is time (sailings depend on the weather; check ahead).
Afternoon at Sendai Umino-Mori Aquarium (about 19 km). A good rainy-day backup too.
Back at the house, cook dinner in the full kitchen. Rice cooker, cookware and tableware for everyone.
Day 3
Check out by 10:00. Stop in Shiogama for the fish market or the shrine on your way home.
